Palmer backs Morrison’s new bill

The Guardian reports: “The Palmer United party (PUP) has thrown its support behind the government’s asylum bill which seeks to reintroduce temporary protection visas (TPVs), all but assuring the bill’s passage.

On Wednesday the immigration minister, Scott Morrison, announced a number of concessions on the bill, including the granting of work rights for people on bridging visas and the removal of all children from immigration detention before Christmas, in his attempt to get a number of crossbenchers across the line.”
