Australia backs PNG’s push to stop inquiry at Manus Island

The Immigration Minister, Scott Morrison, has backed the PNG Foreign Minister’s attempts to have an inquiry into human rights abuses on Manus Island abolished. Fairfax News reported on the weekend that the Australian government was supporting the push to abolish the inquiry, which was intended, among other things, to investigate the circumstances of the death of Reza Barati.
