Abbott refers to mothers’ suicide attempts as “moral blackmail”

Tony Abbott has responded to reports of up to 10 mothers on Christmas Island attempting suicide yesterday, in order to ensure their children can stay in Australia. Referring to such attempts as “moral blackmail”, he said if the report is true then it would not change his position or his policies.
